It has lots of restaurants, shops and things for the kids to do!
It's not very far away. The sun will be setting soon, so I suggest you maybe get a bite to eat at maybe Margaretaville. They have tables outside on balconies that over look the Gulf of Mexico. Or maybe eat
at one of the places directly on the pier. Maybe even walk out on the pier and the kids might like to fish for a while. No fishing gear? They rent fishing poles and sell bait right there at the pier.
Your wife may want to go shopping. There are Lots and Lots of unique botiques, specialty shops as well as chain stores at Pier Park. For dessert there are ice cream stores, bakeries, and a New Orleans Sno-Cone stand. It's located right beside the carousel and rides for the kids.
There is something for everyone!
I have a list of babysitting services you might want to check out so that you and your wife can go out on the town later. There are a few bars at Pier Park you might want to check out. Tootsie's has live music from open to close. A lot of music stars start their careers at Tootsie's in Nashville. When they are in the area of one of Tootsie's bars they sometimes go in and sing a song or two unannounced. So you never know who you will see there. Write down the names of the singers you hear as you never know if or when they will become famous and you can say you saw them BEFORE they became stars. There is also a Comedy Club, and a Hoffbrough Beer Garden.
On weekends they have special things going on like concerts, or arts and craft shows and car shows. Or maybe you'd just like to relax and see a good movie. There is a Cinema there that has 16 theatres inside.
